The RSOS lists different tools and equipment for each machining and forming sub-task. This table puts the lists side by side so you can see which machine belongs to which operation.

Accessories, cutters and holding devices

• Cutting tool components (B-6.03): blades, knives, router bits.
• Tools and equipment accessories (B-6.05): router bits, blades, drill bits.
• Holding devices (B-6.03): clamps, stops, pneumatic devices.
• Before cutting sheet material, panel saw blades must be sharp and scoring blades aligned (B-6.04).

• These two columns are the B-7 range-of-variables lists. The B-7 task descriptor groups things differently: "Automated equipment includes CNC machines, edge banders, spray lines, conveyor systems and material handling." Learn both lists; the RSOS does not draw a strict line between automated and CNC equipment.
• Automated and CNC equipment is calibrated to manufacturers' specifications. Settings or programming are adjusted after a test piece is run.
• Performance problems: adhesion, burning, broken cutter, dull tools, clogged spray gun, timing of robotics, programming issues.
• Products applied: adhesives, finishing materials, packaging materials.
