Adhesion
The state in which two surfaces, the adhesive and the substrate, are held together at an interface by adsorption, chemisorption, mechanical interlocking, interdiffusion and/or electrostatic forces. An adequate bond needs strong adhesion at the interface and strong cohesion within the adhesive.
